Glendalough Monastery, founded by St Kevin in the 6th century.
(about thirty kilometers from Dublin)
There is a story about St. Kevin.......he had a kinship with animals, like St. Francis. During famine times, an otter befriended Kevin and brought him salmon to feed the monks. This continued until a monk wished to make a pair of gloves out of the otter's pelt.......the otter never returned to Glendalough........
